"To Lucy and Bob on the anniversary of Pat's death. Just to let you know at this time of sadness over the loss of Pat, that she is fondly in my thoughts. How much I admired her spirit, attitude about life and people, her generosity, hard work, expertise and most of all her dedication and love for the horses, ponies, dogs and cats. She was a good friend and great mentor to so many people that passed through her life. It is good to grieve but also to remember the wonder of having such a special person in your life, the fond memories you share and the love that surrounded you all."
