Our goal at Sweetwater is to teach proper riding technique and horsemanship while maintaining a safe and secure environment for our customers. We specialize in Hunters, Jumpers and Ponies. Over the years we have earned a reputation for having a “special touch” with the young riders. We are fortunate to have a wonderful mix of beginners, young developing riders and adults, and we love the interaction between these varying levels of equestrians. We maintain a busy horse show schedule and our riders bring home more then their share of blue ribbons. That being said, our main focus is not “point hunting”, or “ribbon collecting”, but teaching proper riding, horse care and always safety. We maintain a happy, relaxed atmosphere at our barn, and never forget that first and foremost, riding is supposed to be fun. We take pride in the quality of care we provide for our horses. We feed three times a day, any combination of Alfalfa, Grass Hay and Pellets that is right for that particular horse. Stalls are cleaned three times daily, water buckets are cleaned daily, and new bedding is put down in stalls every few days. A clean barn is a happy barn. Our primary trainer is Lucy Alabaster, the owner. We are also fortunate to have several other talented, dedicated trainers. Cookie Graham gives lessons at any level from beginner to advanced adult. We are also proud of Paula Randall, a highly skilled trainer and rider in her own right. For more detailed information about out training staff, please visit our "trainers" page. Sweetwater Stables is conveniently located at 28618 N 53rd St, in beautiful Cave Creek Arizona. We are two blocks east of Tatum Blvd., and just North of Dynamite Road. Our facility has two large lighted arenas, a large round pen, and a hot walker and of course all the requisite tack rooms, wash racks and other amenities one would expect. We do not keep any specific “hours”; we are open at any time for our customer’s convenience. Bob and Lucy live on the premises, and there is someone there to “keep an eye” on things 24 hours a day. |
